4,000 Days Today Without My Father: Lessons in Grief, Resilience, and Legacy.🙏

10 years, 11 months and 1 day to be precise.

These are the ten lessons I’ve learned during this period of my life :

1. Grief is real, natural and it is as unique as our DNA, yet it is a universal expression,  and a powerful force which can potentially break us or make us.

2. There is no recovery but we somehow try to rebuild our lives.

3. My dad’s place is irreplaceable ❤. And for me he was and remains my only blood relative who loved me unconditionally.

4. I am stronger than I thought I was and far more resilient.

5. I cherish the special bond I shared with my father and I’m honoured to carry forward his legacy in my way.

6. I’ve discovered the truth between those who care and those who think they do.

7. I did not value the extent of my father’s influence on my life until after he passed away.

8. My dad is looking out for me even beyond death, the proof is Oscar, my German Shepherd.

9. My dad is a hard act to follow.

10. I am proud to be known as my father’s daughter.

To all the fatherless sons and daughters out there who were as blessed as I am, our dads will not leave us. We will always miss their guidance and support. And they will always be in our hearts and when we need their advice we will hear it.

Warm wishes, Daxa
